UN chief welcomes extension of Lebanon-Israel ceasefire

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the extension of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which was facilitated by the United States. The UN reaffirmed its support for efforts to end hostilities and alleviate suffering on both sides. Despite continued Israeli attacks, the US announced a 45-day extension of the ceasefire.
