Israel and Lebanon agree to 45-day ceasefire extension as Washington talks wrap up

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 45-day extension of a ceasefire between them, reducing fighting in southern Lebanon. This agreement followed two days of Washington-facilitated talks aimed at resolving decades-long conflict. The U.S. plans to launch a new ‘security track’ of negotiations at the Pentagon in May.
