Israel and Lebanon Agree to Extend Ceasefire for 45 Days After US-Mediated Talks

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the April 16 ceasefire for 45 days following US-hosted negotiations. The US hopes the talks will help advance lasting peace between Lebanon and Israel, ensure full recognition of each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and establish real security along their shared border. Separate security talks between Lebanese and Israeli military delegations will begin in the US on May 29.
