Israel, Lebanon to extend ceasefire for 45 days: US State Department

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 45-day extension of their ceasefire, brokered by the United States. Political negotiations will occur on June 2-3, while parallel security talks will take place at the Pentagon on May 29. Despite the ceasefire, clashes between Israel and Hezbollah continue in southern Lebanon.
