President Trump and Xi Jinping agreed that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons and shared a consensus on maintaining the openness of the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides expressed opposition to the militarization of the Strait of Hormuz and the imposition of transit fees. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating fentanyl.
