US announces 45-day extension of Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire

The United States announced a 45-day extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. Despite recent violations of the truce, the US is planning further mediation talks between the two sides in June. The US is also scheduling a military-level dialogue between Israel and Hezbollah at the Pentagon on May 29th.
