Israel and Lebanon agree to extend ceasefire, US state department says

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the ceasefire for 45 days, following negotiations in Washington DC. The US State Department hopes these discussions will advance lasting peace between the two countries. The Pentagon will launch a security track with military delegations from both countries on May 29th.
