The National Security Advisor, Lee Sung-rak, is reviewing the U.S.-proposed Maritime Freedom Campaign (MFC) regarding the Strait of Hormuz, actively participating in international coordination discussions for ensuring safe passage. The South Korean government is also pursuing the transfer of operational control (OPCON) with the U.S. and is seeking to strengthen communication with the U.S. to restart dialogue with North Korea, while encouraging constructive roles from China and Russia on the Korean Peninsula.
