Gharibabadi: U.S. draft proposal on Hormuz Strait is an attempt to alter nature of issue

Iran views the U.S. effort, along with some regional allies, to introduce a draft proposal regarding the Strait of Hormuz at the Security Council as a new attempt to alter the nature of the issue. Iran emphasized that ‘freedom of navigation’ cannot be interpreted selectively and that any draft ignoring aggression, blockade, and threats of force will be incomplete and biased. This effort will not contribute to reducing tensions or maritime security.
