US imposes new sanctions tied to Iranian oil sales to China

The US administration under President Donald Trump has imposed new sanctions targeting individuals and entities aiding the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in selling and transporting Iranian oil to China. The IRGC uses front companies operating in permissive jurisdictions to conceal oil sales and channel revenue to the Iranian government. Companies based in Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE are included in the sanctions.
