China defies Strait of Hormuz crisis with record monthly export value in April

China achieved record monthly export values in April, continuing export growth despite the Strait of Hormuz crisis. Imports also exceeded projections, leading to a widening trade surplus. China’s economy is offsetting some of the impact of the US-Iran conflict through its competitive supply chains.
