Middle East conflict and Lufthansa strikes weigh on BER April traffic

BER passenger numbers declined 4.1% year-on-year in April 2026 due to the ongoing Middle East conflict and Lufthansa strikes, disrupting travel demand and operations. Approximately 84,000 fewer passengers traveled on Middle East routes, and 40,000 additional passengers were affected by Lufthansa cancellations. Easter traffic provided a strong seasonal boost.
