US military says it carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran

The US military carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran in response to what it called ‘unprovoked hostilities’ by Iran. Iran claimed the US violated a ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker and another ship entering the Strait of Hormuz. The US military stated no US assets were hit and remains prepared to protect its forces.
