US sanctions Iraqi deputy oil minister over Iran oil funding

The US has sanctioned Iraq’s Deputy Oil Minister, Ali Ma'arij Al-Bahadli, over allegations of funding Iranian oil through the Iraqi sector. This sanction is part of the ‘Operation Economic Fury’ campaign to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime. The US stated it will not allow Iraqi oil to fund terrorism.
