Government defers consideration of political salaries until impact of Middle East conflict is clearer

The Singapore government has deferred consideration of political salaries until the impact of the Middle East conflict on Singapore becomes clearer. This salary review, which hasn't occurred since 2012, is being postponed due to global economic uncertainties and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, clouding Singapore's economic outlook. A previous review in 2023 was also delayed due to economic uncertainties.
