US warships enter Gulf via Strait of Hormuz to secure shipping

US warships have entered the Arabian Gulf after transiting the Strait of Hormuz to support commercial shipping traffic. Iran continues to maintain a blockade of the strait, while the US is escalating its military pressure in response. No US Navy ships have been struck by Iranian missiles so far.
