The US has imposed new sanctions on 14 firms and individuals assisting Iran in acquiring weapons. These entities are based in Iran, Turkey, and the UAE and were involved in procuring or transporting weapons and components for Iran. The sanctions aim to disrupt Iran's efforts to rebuild its ballistic missile inventory following US-Israeli attacks.

The 2015 Iran nuclear agreement (JCPOA) aimed to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. The US initially pursued diplomacy to slow down Iran’s nuclear progress. However, the agreement collapsed after Trump’s withdrawal, leading to renewed tensions and uncertainty about future negotiations.

A US nuclear scientist reportedly claimed the US may assassinate Iran’s new Supreme Leader, sparking controversy. He also alleged the US had previously killed school children in Iranian air strikes and discussed the process of nuclear strike decisions. This follows President Trump’s announcement of extending the ceasefire with Iran and continuing the blockade of Iranian ports.

IAEA Director General Grossi warned Trump against pursuing a nuclear deal with Iran without international inspections. He emphasized that such agreements would be meaningless without verifiable oversight and could lead to a dangerous nuclear arms race. Concerns were raised about potential nuclear proliferation among countries like Poland, South Korea, and Japan.

The US has sanctioned 14 individuals, entities, and aircraft for procuring weapons for Iran.
